Number 3: the Wool

Discover wool, a natural material with a thousand qualities: soft, warm, and durable. A source of elegance and comfort, it enchants all those seeking beauty and authenticity.

MANUFACTURING

1. SHEARING

The first step in wool production is shearing the animals to collect their fleece. The quality of the wool largely depends on the breed of the animal and how it is cared for.

2. SORTING

Once the wool is collected, it is sorted to remove impurities, unwanted hairs, and bits of vegetation.

3. WASHING

The wool is then washed to remove dirt, grease, and other contaminants. This process can be done with hot or cold water, depending on the intended use of the wool.

4. CARDING

The washed wool is carded to align the fibers and prepare them for spinning. This process results in softer, more uniform wool.

5. SPINNING

The carded fibers are spun into wool yarns. These can be used as they are or dyed to create a variety of colors.

6. WEAVING

The wool yarns are then used to create fabrics, garments, blankets, and many other products.

OUR FASHION TIP

Balance volumes by pairing a chunky knit or a loose wool piece with a more fitted bottom, and play with layering to add texture and depth.

THE BENEFITS

Wool has exceptional insulating properties. It is also resistant to moisture and odors, and can help regulate body temperature.

OUR CARE

TIP

To extend the life of your wool knits, use a gentle, wool-specific detergent, wash by hand or in the machine on a cold wool program with a maximum of 800 RPM, and never iron the wool to avoid flattening its texture.
