MOHAIR

NATURAL LUXURY FROM ANGORA GOAT FIBRES

Welcome to the world of mohair, an exceptional textile fibre that embodies natural luxury and elegance. Mohair, made from the fleece of Angora goats, has long been prized for its softness, shine and lightness. Mohair is much more than just a textile fibre, it's a symbol of luxury and comfort, a fabric that envelops its wearer in a cocoon of softness.

FABRIC FOCUS

MANUFACTURING

#1
BREEDING AND SHEARING

Angora goats are reared in special conditions to ensure the quality of their fleece. Shearing, which takes place twice a year, is carried out with care to avoid damaging the delicate fibres.

#2
FIBRE SELECTION

After shearing, the fibres are sorted according to length, colour and texture. The longest and finest fibres are generally chosen to obtain the highest quality mohair.

#3
CLEANING AND WASHING

The fibres are then cleaned to remove impurities such as dirt and grease. Gentle washing preserves the natural softness of mohair.

#4
CARDING AND COMBING

The fibres are carded to align them in the same direction, then combed to create uniform, silky strands.

#5
SPINNING

The mohair strands are spun to create yarns of different thicknesses. These yarns can then be dyed in a variety of vibrant colours.

#6
WEAVING OR KNITTING

Mohair yarns are used to create woven or knitted fabrics, which are then transformed into elegant garments and accessories.
